How to track lost Android devices

Now a days mobiles,tablets and laptops are a part of our life. If your device is lost you will be in big problem,because most of people save all data of them in their electronic devices.So it is very important to take care of electronic devices.What should you do if your android device was stolen,you forget it at any place..etc.In this tutorial I will show you how to locate your android device.

There are lots of methods to locate android devices.I will show you all working and easy methods.





Method-1

Use the IMEI Number

Every android devices have a unique IMEI number.IMEI stand for International Mobile Equipment Identity Number.It is printed on back side of mobile.If you unable to find it dont' worry there is another way to find it.Dial *#06# ,you can find your IMEI number.Your service provider can track your device using this IMEI number.No matter the mobile is switched off or sim card was changed,you can find it's location easily.By IMEI number device can track easily.





Method-2

Android Device Manager

Google has a locator feature for android devices called "Android Device Manager".You can use it to track your device.It help to it's users to locate lost or stolen devices.

Go to the Google Settings app, then select Android device manager. By default the locator feature is activated but to activate remove data wipe, select the box next to “Allow remote factory reset”, then select “activate”.
To use this feature open the site https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager and log in with your gmail account.You can show the location of your device in map option in the android device manager.The most usefull and important feature of android device manager is you can call your device using it.This will make your device to ring with high volume for 5 minutes, even if it’s in silent or vibrate mode.So it it a best way to locate your android device.





Method-3

Plan B

What to do if you don't have a IMEI number.In this type of situation plan b app is very usefull.This app does not require you to install any recovery software previously but still helps in finding your lost phone. All you need to do is log on to your Google play account. Lookout mobile security offers free software called Plan B. Download the software from play store to your phone. This will be possible only if your phone is within the Internet coverage area. Wait for some time and then send the keyword “locate” without the quotes through SMS to your phone. And a map showing where your equipment is will be sent to your Gmail account. This app is very much useful in situations where you don’t have IMEI number.

you can also use another apps such as Android Lost, Where do My Droid and GadgetTrak.It will help you to locate your device.
Note:Android Device Manager will not work if your mobile's gmail app was not sync with your gmail account.So it is my advise to sync your gmail app with your gmail account.Most of web sites do not show this disadvantage of android device manager.
